This course represents over a decade of research in trauma management from the Committee of Tactical Combat Casualty Care and the American College of Surgeons. This clinical research has been combined... with the experience of downrange providers to create the most focused course available for Operators to manage injuries in the field. The leading causes of preventable death in the field are well known and there are clear cut methods to manage these injuries. Training these skills is just as necessary as clearing a malfunction or transitioning from your primary to secondary weapon.
Uncontrolled bleeding, sucking chest wounds and airway obstruction make up a lethal triad in hyperviolent trauma. ATMS addresses these three leading causes or mortality in the field and how to treat them. The goal of this class is to maintain tactical awareness and the ability to engage threats at all times while providing self aid or buddy care to injured persons.
ATMS teaches you life saving mindset and skills to not only survive a critical incident, but dominate it.
The Advanced Trauma Management Lab is a 2 day 16 hour event divided up between classroom time, hands on skills practice with the most advanced first aid gear and wound simulators on the market and 8 hours on the range putting it all together. All drills will be practiced in a physiologically accurate high stress environment in order to accurately represent real world performance.
